The aim of this feature length documentary by Pilar Sueiro is to look in depth at the latest innovation in the history of cinema, the “Dogma” movement, and, moreover, to do so with the collaboration of its founders and of the only Spanish film maker officially recognised by these as a member of the avant garde group, Juan Pinzás. A return to the locations where the “Dogma” films were shot. Actors’ opinions. Comments by cinema professionals, journalists, critics, writers and historians. Images from “Dogma” films. Unedited sequences that have not been included in the final cuts, and a journey, guided by the wonderful actor Javier Gurruchaga, through Santiago de Compostela, the setting for the latest Spanish “Dogma” film, “El Desenlace” (The Outcome).

Marcos, un escritor español que lleva diez años viviendo en Manhattan como corresponsal de prensa, al enterarse de que sólo le quedan seis meses de vida decide volver a Galicia para poner fin a su última novela antes de morir y encontrar a Sandra, una mujer a la que nunca ha podido olvidar y con la que le une un turbio pasado.

“El círculo del destino” aborda una interesante propuesta de thriller psicológico en el que la suplantación de la personalidad adquiere un especial e intrigante protagonismo. Una propuesta cinematográfica original enfocada desde una perspectiva onírica que nos transporta a otra dimensión, la de ocho personajes peculiares, cuatro hombres y cuatro mujeres, de edades y caracteres bien distintos, que buscan su futuro en las sombras del pasado y se ven atrapados por el círculo del destino.

“The Circle of Fate” deals with an interesting idea within the structure of a psychological thriller in which impersonation acquires a special, intriguing importance. An original story seen from a dreamlike perspective that transports us to another dimension, that of eight peculiar characters, four men and four women, who seek their future in the shadows of the past and find themselves trapped by the circle of fate.
